There was no AM stereo back then. There was some talk of it in the industry about 10 years ago, but I don’t know if anybody ever implemented it for any practical purpose. AM radio is mostly talk programs, or is broadcast in remote areas where the fact that the signal travels farther is more important than it is in more densely populated areas.

Ralph D.  I do not know if the am radio I have is a stereo or mono ? Is there a way of telling without wiring the whole thing up.?   Bob K
