hello, have a 396 trying to decode, on the front pad it is stamped to429ivr 6d200879 on the back of the block the numbers our 3855961 on the pass. side it is stamped d- 2 - 66 and near the oil filter it is stamped high pref. cant seem to locate the suffix code, the book i have lists ed eh ekr ek em the only thing i can think of maybe that 6 is suppose to be an e. starting to wonder if it is a chevelle engine or out of an impala any
help guys would be greatly appreciated, going to list on e bay, have the block, pistons and crank, if anyone is instrested email me i will send photos, thanks again ronnie
