My non-air 72 had plastic, but my AC 72 has steel.  I don't know if AC/nonAC was the difference or not.  The non AC car was a 6cylinder while the other was a V-8.  Both cars were the plain jane non-Malibu Chevelles and of course not a 71.

We are restoring a 71 Chevelle 454 with factory air.
Trying for "factory correct" resto for the most part.  Currently, the driver's side inner fender well is plastic and the passenger's side inner fender well is steel.  Is this common and factory correct or not ? Should we restore to both steel ?

Thanks guys !

Melanie
