I used
the por 15 engine paint, it came in a one pint can or something like that.
If you want to goof around and figure out a way to spray it that would be a good
idea. I brushed it on and got streaks. Of course they say it is self
leveling bla bla bla. It did not work out that well and on the valve
covers I had to wet sand them down and spray them with a spray can. Now
the color does not match exactly :-( My oil pan
still sucks but it is on the car and will be what it is until the engine comes
out for something.
I have standardized on a
manufacture and color and written it down. As I paint or replace
things I use that brand now.
I too love the por 15 product for
sealing and priming for sealing (not for sanding. My process now is
to por15 stuff then spray the part with spray can engine paint like the can
says. This combo makes a very durable finished product in my
experience. Just spray can paint on raw metal is good for 1-3
years.
The Por 15 engine paints claim
is "high solids" so there is more paint in the can and less thinner, so you get
a thicker coat of paint. My theory is to give the part a few extra
coats of spray can paint then to build up the solids. Works for me
anyway...
