Charles, The windshield you need is anything but rare. It fits many A Bodies from 64/67. There are some new one's that are better than others. If you can find a PPG or US made windshield buy that one. I just installed one in my 64 Tempest, same as your's, and it came from China. Was a little thinner than stock and it already needs replacement from a rock ding on the Power Tour. The US made one might have cracked as well, but I will be looking for one made in the USA this time around. I remove and install my own and paid $125. for this one. $175. is a fair price, but you may want to ask where it was manufactured.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Windshield for a '65

Well, I called around yesterday to some local glass companies.  I was getting discouraged as most said they could not get a windshield for my '65 Hardtop.  I finally got a guy that was willing to give more effort than just saying NO.  I told him to be gentle as this was a NON insurance windshield (believe me, it makes a difference if you say this).  He quoted me $175 installed, but would take a week to get it in.  I told him the car is a couple of months from driving, so that wasn't an issue.  I just wanted to pass this on, I thought it was a good deal considering the one in my Crown Victoria was about $600, and they still MAKE this car, unlike my '65.
