Ya might get hooked up with the members of KKOA. ( Kustom Kemps of America)
(417-847-2940). Their end of the car hobby world has included chopped tops since the heyday of Barris, Starbird, Bailon and the Alexander Brothers.   The Hirohata (sp) Merc is still a fantastic car.   If anyone can help with a chop, the KKOA group can send you to the right person.  It's not only the metal but the glass as well.  I am having a ball with my 68 SS ( cept for that electric thang) but i am gonna have to have a flamed Merc with mailbox slot windows before I time out.  Almost anything 50's ( or 40's or 30's and some from the 60's) looked better with a nice chop.

Top have it done right, it ain't cheap.  Last I heard here in Dallas, it was $3,000 but that was a long time back.

But driving through leeeetle slots is a rush.  Especially with a California rake.  Ya can't see too far ahead and overhead stop lights are just a guesswork thing without the little plastic viewer like on 50's Chevy's.
