  I'm excited for you too.   Retired, plenty of time & money (???) ;) for the cars.   
All of my friends who have retired tell me that you really do need less income once 
you are retired, and they all wish that they'd pulled the plug earlier.   Good luck

I have had the 65 SS with the BB since 1991 and have been trying to get enough money together forever to buy a set of aluminum heads.  There was always something to buy for the family or house.  Well, I finally retired, and got some leave pay from the job, and bought the Edelbrock oval ports, 1 3/4" Jet Hot headers (Hooker), and a  3" Hedman X pipe kit.  All should be here in a week.     The engine has a Comp Cams Hyd roller.  Will need to inspect the cam hardware.  If all is well, should have it running in a week or two.   I am excited!   Larry Williams
