Six O one half dozen of the other. The fuse will be more convenient to replace if necessary. I think GM went to fusible links because they could save 14 cents per vehicle :-) Plus it will be obvious when the fuse goes, fusible links can blow without being obvious. rick
All, I recently upgraded replaced my alternator with a CS130 unit (105 amp), using the info from Wes Vann's page on chevelles.com ( http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref14.html) and everything works great. I replaced the alternator because my old externally regulated unit went bad and blew the fusible link from the battery post <--> alternator. Now I need to splice it back together. http://users.adelphia.net/~dstudly/images/batterypost.jpg My father tells me I should keep a fusible link, while I'm inclined to put an inline fuse (30amp?) in there. Is one way better than the other? -Dave, [EMAIL PROTECTED] '70 Chevelle rick schaefer 72 El camino http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/rick/elcamino17.jpg ACES #00140 Team Chevelle #00038 Please note: message attached
