Rick, that might be me. I built a MegaSquirt a couple months ago. I just recently finished acquiring a bunch of TPI parts, following along the lines of the car craft article. I'm getting ready to start the fuel system next.
I've seen those mod'ed LT1 intakes. Seems popular up at www.thirdgen.org. Some guys even seem to get good power numbers. Interesting idea, but it just seems like too much of a bastardization for me. I dunno, maybe I just need to see one installed, but it seems like a lot of potential for problems -- when there is already plenty of room for problems converting to EFI! I've decided I'm gonna stick with a TPI, even though it sounds like it is going to kill my motor above 4500 RPM. If I'm comfortable with the electronics, I'll go get a Holley Stealth Ram, which seems like the bang-for-the-buck winner. What looks like it merits a second look is the Ram Jet setup. There's a GM part number which gives you the entire intake/injectors/fuel rail/throttle body for $1200. Pretty much everything except a computer and harness. If I had to start over, it's a decent price for everything you get. I've barely got $600 in my setup so far, but still need a fuel pump, plumbing, and a wiring harness, which I'm going to have to make myself it looks like. I'm hoping to be running for under $1000. And before October. How many other people on the list are running EFI? I know you are Rick, and I thought Dale McIntosh had some pretty high-zoot Accel setup on a big-block. Anyone else? -Dave -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of rick schaefer Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2004 10:04 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Chevelle-list] MEGASQUUIRT A few weeks back someone was looking for EFI intake ideas. He'd already built a Megasquirt controller. I recently found this web site & thought that it might help : www.lt1intake.com Hope that this helps someone. rick schaefer 72 El camino http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/rick/elcamino17.jpg ACES #00140 Team Chevelle #00038
