So I get my "chevelle restoration kit" in the mail from GM and they show 8
part numbers, 4 wire lengths, 4 wire diameters, 8 free lengths, eight load
values at 12.59 working height and 2 spring rates (250 & 320#). Then I call the
Moog tech. line and the guy asked what model, what engine, HD (is that F40?)
Long pause, then he said you need 6204 front 6201 rear. What free length, what
spring rate? He doesn't know that. I could calculate ride height with info and
maybe tweak ride height with other Moog PNs at less than the $150 that Eaton
and others charge. The first ragtop had all it could handle with F40 on a new
frame with new body bushings I don't want to go any stiffer than that with
this tired frame and bushings. Where can I find this info please? OK ranting
a little here.
FYI: F 40 option in '66 - $4.50
Console $45.00
Instruments w/knee knocker $75.00
M21 - $100.00...on SS
M20 - $175.00...non SS
