Thanks again. 490 horsepower works for me! I'm going to have it dyno tuned when it's built to adjust the timing curve and carb jet sizes etc.
Holley makes two double pumper models from what I can tell. The 4150 and the 4150HP. Does anyone out there run a 4150HP? I'm wondering if they are a race only carb. My chevelle is spending the majority of the time on the street.
Thanks again!

Hey Matthew
Ran your numbers on my desktop. I had to assume a few things. Like duel exhaust, duel plane inlet,Are your aluminum heads rectangle or oval? With what I guessed at: You are running 492 HP at 5500 and 529 T at 3500. The dyno 2000 shows that you only gain 5 HP from a 750 to a 850.
Myself I like vacuum secondaries not a double pumper. Uses to much gas I think. If you want a closer dyno. Give me: btdc, bbdc, ivc and evc off of you cam card. Oval or rectangle ports? and your comp ratio.

- Hey Guys,
- I'm having my 396 rebuilt and the builder recommended a Holley double pumper, either a 750 cfm or an 850 cfm , claiming I would get a bit more top end power out of the 850.
- Here what I know about the engine:
- 396 being stroked out to 454
- Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads (2.19/1.88)
- Edelbrock Performer RPM air-gap dual plane intake
- Crower Solid lifter cam - 294/304 duration and 536/556 lift at 110 centerline
- I think the 750 will probably be a better street carb, but how much power would I sacrifice? Any thoughts out there? Anyone have desktop dyno that can run the numbers for me? That would be great! Thanks!
