First, I guess I'm having a brain fart, but which cylinder is which on the Big Block Chevy? is it like this:

      (7)  (5)  (3)  (1)
      -----------------
(Dist)                 []   ---> Radiator
      -------------------
      (8)  (6)  (4)  (2)

I guess I'm getting confused because I'm so used to working on VW's

(1)  (2)
---------
           []  ----> Rear Bumper
---------
(3)  (4)

Second, where do you think is the best place to put a temp sensor on a big block Chevy?  I currently have it mounted in the intake manifold above cylinder #1 (if my above picture is correct).  Is this the correct location?

Third, Oil pressure sender.  Where should this go?  Below the distributor on the small ledge behind the engine, or above the Oil Filter?  I'm told that on some BBC engines that the passage above the oil filter may be a bypass passage, and not display true readings.  Is this true on the Gen VI blocks?

Thanks in advance for your help
Charles
