The top was clearly stated in his ad before it went on Ebay as being removed As far as the reserve? I have no idea why I was told 175k. it was $175,000 in the ad before it went into Ebay.
Yes, Dale I agree with you that it could not be the #1 car. I may have misinterpreted what I was told by a follow Z16 lover you are correct that terry's car does not have all experimental sample tags all over it. A better wording most likely would be that Terry's car was the first car built after the experimental car was built. If it wasn't, then his car would have to be a clone as the trunk lid and trunk area clearly shows putty leaking through where trim and emblems would have been on a regular SS car and his car does not have a convertible frame. I should have realized it was not the first by the experimental sample tags missing and also I had made the comment (took a picture too) while @ the show that the rear trunk molding trim did not look hand fit and have rough tool marks. I don't know where I got the $2799.00 figure for base price. When I went back to look all I could find @ this time is the Year One article. It states $2647..+ 1501.00 which is $4148.00. The Popular Mechanics article on Bob Macy's Z16 does state base SS price of $2431.00 + 1501.00 which would equal $3932.00.I will look through some more books and articles as I have been using the $4300.00 figure for years.
