Guys, fyi - found out what the black/red wire coming off the circuit board goes to ... it's Ground! I unraveled some of the elec tape about 6 inches up from the tach, to see that the black/red wire joins together with the black one. I had to unravel it a bit because a previous owner used different color wires when extending and had to figure it all out.
