For the rear, if you have 8" wheels, you need a +12mm offset or 5" backspacing.  The -12mm offset is equivalent to 4" backspacing.
 
I have some 8" wheels with -6mm offset / 4 1/4" backspacing with 275-60r15 and they rub.

I'm restoring a 65 SS Malibu Convertible. I have changed the front brakes to disc but left the rear drums. I own a set of 15X8 rimes with a -11mm(?) offset but I don't know  if they will work without rubbing. I need to know that size tire rim and offset would look the best without a rub problem.
