"AB" is the code used on that particular weight spring.  Springs were
selected based on what model was being built and what options (a/c, p/s,
etc.) to keep the vehicle at the recommended height. The "AB" spring has a
max load of 2918 lbs.  Two identical models (e.g., SS Chevelles) w/F40
suspension might have two different springs selected depending on options.
The code tag simply told the line worker installing front springs which
springs to grab.
