Is your block drilled/tapped for the 2 starter mount positions? (2 bolts straight across and 2 bolts diagonal across) If you have the diagonal pattern, then you could do as I did. Get a HD starter for a 400 (early 70s trucks, Monte, etc).
If you have onlly the straight across pattern, then I think you'll have to find an aftermarket mini-starter with the multiple positions.
