John, The Z28 was available within the first year of Camaro production, 1967. My next door neighbor ordered one of the first sold in NC. He replaced a 66 L79 Nova with it. Boy, I would like to have either of them now. The day I got my drivers license, he picked me up at school in his Nova and let me drive it all around town. That was April 20,1967 so I know the Z28 was bought sometime after that date, but he had it that same summer.

The Z/28 was around waaaay before the IROC. OTTOMH I think 1969 was the first year for the Z/28.

Thanks for that info Larry.. always put the two together

Z/28 = IROC... and visa versa.

Chevrolet quit using the IROC name when its licensing to use the IROC name ran out
