Just some thoughts guys: I'm sure this is a very nice car and will make some
enthusiast very happy & proud to own & drive. There seems to be alot of 65 SS
283 autos around the country for sale. This was probably the most common combo
of 65. I had an L-79 4speed in 65, two 283 autos in between and have a
modified SB 4 speed 65 SS today. This was the Muscle car era. HP and Speed
were the order of the day. Some people were unhappy with 326 Tempests, 318
Mopars, 352 Fords, you get the idea. They were just as pretty & alittle less
expensive but not much performance. If you follow the ads like I do re 65's, I
tend to see frame off resto's with this combo for $22-40K but they stay on the
market for a while. The 327/300 offered much more classic value & I wish I had
my L-79 today!! I know that everyone has different ideas & desires re this
hobby. Kinda like when the lion tastes it's first meat, IMO thats what speed
and a Muscle car are like. I like all old cars, classics, etc. But if I have
to own one, it better "RUN". Nothing against purists. I can appreciate their
end of the hobby also. No critcism intended. Just thinking out loud. Any
comments & ventilation welcome.

Phil G. 65 SS
