hey bob before you tear the heads down, I would drain the coolant and drain the oil, with the oil plug in fill crank case with diesel fuel run a half a min drain, and repeat, clean all the crap out of the engine, then drain, and pull the heads, check your head gasket you will see signs there if you have a blow though,then have your machine shop check your heads,then replace , fill with clean oil and coolant run awhile then drain oil again , this should fix your problem, a lot easier then  yanking the engine out, make sure the surfaces are very clean.  gl  rick
