Sort of thought that was the trim you were referring to. John Nasta sells
this stuff and he'd be a pretty good source of info on non availability.

The molding in this picture on the edge of the front fender, door, and up to
the drip rail of the rear window. An even better picture of the molding is
on item # 4530858358. I have a very strong feeling that these moldings are
not being reproduced, or that there are not any new ones left anywhere. I
think, unless someone knows better that when the moldings are taken off to
repaint the car I will just have them reworked by a specialty house.
Thanks for all the help.

Are you sure the roof drip moldings on a 70 Malibu run up the front fender?
I think this may be a different molding - "...from
the front of the fender along the edge to the drip rail of the rear window."
Can you post a picture somewhere or is it like the moldings on this car?

1 If so, I'd almost bet they're going to very hard to find. Way too many
70s have been cloned into SS look-a-likes that if this molding was present
on them, they'd have been long discarded so there's probably not the demand
for them.

This question I think I already know the answer, but will ask. On the 1970
Chevelle Malibu there is chrome or stainless steel moldings that run from
the front of the fender along the edge to the drip rail of the rear window.
Are these available either original equipment or reproduction new? The ones
on the car are not in too bad of condition, but do have a couple of small
dents and quite a bit of scratching so I would like to replace them. I am
trying to eliminate deducted points in judging as well as appearance with a
new paint job.

Sorry for the book I just wrote.

Thanks

Chuck
