hey joe the strips ran down the side in 69 two small and a wide one in the center, a easy way to locate the right place for the sticker ( i would paint it in if using base coat clear coat paint) put the car under a bright light source, and you will see the shadow on the side of car, that's where you start, i found  this out by accident, but im sure this is the way the factory or dealer would have done it,  you cant miss
