Hi Mike,
   I did the same with my 1968, It originally was bench seat 4 speed car .I
took out a set of 69-72 buckets (in perfect condition if anyone is
interested) and installed a set of 1968 seats. I bought some aftermarket
brackets that are designed specifically for this purpose if you want to
check into going that right.  EOM
