I'm thinking about having a custom built 540 for my Chevelle. I'm running a
454 that's been bored out..and I run it with an 8-71 BDS blower. The problem
is...the old motor is a two bolt main...The crank has only one key way
instead of the two for a blower...the heads ports are wrong....so...I plan
on jacking the new blower up and putting a new engine under it!

I know 540 is plenty engine...I'm curious to know of anyone running a 540 in
a Chevelle?

This all started with the original motor having a 6v-71 Dyers blower...I
could find no parts for the unit, so decided to upgrade the blower....During
disassembly...I found out about all the problems...so that's what's brought
on the desire for something better!

I know it's crazy with $2.00 gas...but I've wanted a Chevelle since I was in
High
School but could never afford it. Now I want to build a hot one!(GRIN)
