I was told the same thing by my painter.  And for that reason, he repaired my original fenders and rear quarters instead of replacing them with aftermarket pieces.

I've talked to several people in the last few months concerning OEM vs. aftermarket sheetmetal, and they've all told me the same thing - go with original GM when you have a choice. They all say they fit better, and in many cases, they are heavier gauge, making them less prone to warping, etc.

wondering what the list thought:

this guy has some front fenders for my 71 elky, he wants 200.00 each -

they are nice, look like they never have been fixed/patched (except maybe one dent fixed).

but i think goodmark makes them for like 240.00 or so.

is it worth it to buy the orignals? or should i just go with the new ones?
