Hey Dale or any other list member, is there a page for the location of SS then 454 located directly beneath for a 1972? I have an assembly book, it gives the relation between the letters and #'s but do's not give a starting point on the fender . ie. 10''down from top of fender. 5'' in from door side. I need a starting point for all the other measurements to be in the right place.in construction we work off centers (center line) & (elevations). maybe you can tell me, I may not be reading the assembly manual the right way? any help is appreciated. Tom,

According to a noted restorer, the base-line of Sport is on the same horizontal plane as the 2nd from bottom trim strip on the tail light and 1 1/8 inboard of the body seam.  See the bottom of this page http://www.chevelleinfo.com/body/emblems/emblems.htm for details.  Theres nothing in the AIM that Ive found but the source does many fine restorations and Id go with his measurements
