I had a vibration problem for a long time on my '71 Malibu. Everything I did improved the situation slightly (new drive shaft, ujoints, etc), but it turned out most of the problem was a bent pinion yoke. The previous owner said he backed over a tree stump once; he claims there was no damage, but I think it bent that darn yoke. Took me a while to find one, but its solid now.

I'll begin with removing the 1'' Spacers!
Then change the u-joints!
Continue with changinging the tailshaft bushing!
And last, balancing the drive shaft!

If that doesent do the trick?
Check the flywheel?
The dampener?
Try another set of wheels?
Check the fan?

Incorrect pinion angle could certainly cause vibrations,Pelle.

...The rear coils are hightened approx 1''.
That would mean that the pinion angle would/could be wrong?
Could that cause the vibrations?
But at the other hand I should be able to load the trunk with
stuff (changing the pinion angle?) without getting vibrations? Hmm...
