Pelle, Do you have power steering? If so take a look at hydroboost. You get the clearance plus a much stronger brake than vacuum and no brake failure due to low vacuum at idle. I think this link is good. www.hydratech.com

The power booster I have doesn't allow me to put high valve covers on my heads

is there any smaller booster I can use to give me the needed extra clearance?

Maybe there is a smaller AND more efficient power booster out there?
