Hi Jack, A friend of mine has a 70 SS 454 El Camino with a TH400 and a Gear Vendors under/over drive. It's a pretty cool item. You can leave the GV in auto mode and the trans shifts like normal but after third, the GV kicks in for OD. If you put it in manual, you hit a dimmer switch to shift through 6 gears! You get 6 gears via 1st, 1st over, 2nd, 2nd over, 3rd, and finally 3rd over.
