Do you have a Factory Service Manual?   Instruction is in there, not
hard to do but  hard to explain without pictures (or being there).  
You will need to remove steering wheel and directional switch.  Then
there is a small square area (as I recall - but its been a long time)
where you need to remove some metal flashing.  Then stick a small
screwdriver into the cavity you opened & the cylinder will release.
  I can email you a scan of the page from the manual if you don't get
better directions/instruction from someone else.
