Hi John, 1) If you're referring to the stock brake lines, yes I was able to make them work. I needed to rebend them a bit but for the most part they fit fine. The bracket that holds the junction block on top of the rear is the same bracket from the 10 bolt. I bent it as needed and mounted it to one of the upper studs used to bolt the third member in place.
2) I don't have any good pictures but I promised to get some for Mike Holleman for his project so I can email them to you also. 3) I have Baer rear brakes and had to use a parking brake cable kit from Lokar. The kit replaces the entire cable from pedal to drum (or caliper in my case). 4) Other than re-routing the brake lines and using the Lokar cables, it truly did bolt right in. In fact, the actual swapping of rears took less time than it did to put the car up on jack stands! Once I disconnected the lines from the 10 bolt and removed the four trailing arm bolts, using my floor jack I litterally rolled the 10 bolt out and rolled the 9" in. I ligned up the trailing arm holes with the brackets on the 9", installed the bolts and tightened everything in place. I popped the coil springs in and bolted them to the rear. I waited to install the shocks until after the brake lines and cables were in place. Overall I thought it was pretty simple. Other than an axle seal leak on my first Power Tour, I haven't had to give the rear end much thought until now. As for the expense, yes it was pretty big, but now almost three years later I'm happy with my choice. I am interested in the Currie Enterprises 9" rear (like you have) for my 69SS and had a few questions: 1) Did the stock Chevelle lines work? Did you have to weld on a clip at the top of the unit or was that there already? 2) Do you have pictures showing detail of the lines at the back of the wheel (I saw the one kind of showing the center section)? 3) Was there any trouble getting the parking brake to work? Did the brakes interface with the default intermediate cable of the Chevelle parking brake system? 4) Was it a true bolt-in? Sorry for the on-slaught of questions, but this is a big expense and I want to be know what work lies ahead. Thanks a lot for the help. John ---------------------------------------- John M. About two years ago I ordered a complete Currie 9" and like Ron mentioned below, I too got carried away while ordering. The entire rear including shipping ended up costing $3600. Even though it cost a lot, I can't complain because it has been one of the few bolt it in and forget items I've bought. It quietly does its thing with no fuss. I wish I could say that for every part on my El but we all know how that goes! I'm planning to install my Moser this weekend. Nothing cheap about it - plus I got carried away as I was ordering... Don't forget about the shipping either. Moser sends them with the shipping COD. Had to warn the wife about that $225 bill before it was a surprise :-) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of mike f Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2005 6:50 PM To: The Chevelle Mailing List Subject: RE: [Chevelle-list] suggestions on a 12 bolt I guess maybe the best question to start in these situations is to ask, How much money can you afford? I did the Mosser 12 bolt thing. Got the differential and spline count I wanted with late model Chevrolet flanges. I think the old style brake kits, if this is a consideration at the moment, are cheaper than a junkyard or new 93-up rear disc setup. But really, it's all about your fundage, as it were. mike f. --- Dale <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Tom, > > Are you sure it's not a 3.07 gear?
