I just picked up a 10-bolt posi for my Chevelle that's
out of a '67 El Camino.

The rear is super clean, but I want to make sure I get
everything checked as best as possible before I load
this thing up in the car and find out a problem.

Is there anything I can check myself, rather than
having to take it to a shop? If that's what I have to
do, then so be it- But I really am trying to learn
more on this topic, as I don't have much experience in
rear differentials.

Also, if the ring/pinion gear are Eaton or any other
brand, where would I find that info? The carrier has
a CB coding on it, which means it was originally a
3.36 open for '67. However it definitely is a posi
now.

Thanks in advance,

Jim
