Phil, your right about the radio.  I didn't have one in the hole when I bought my Malibu.  So they make these original look alikes that are also cassette with cd hook ups.  I put speakers in the doors and on the rear deck.  It sounds great.  But it was really stupid, cause the sound of the Chevelle is sweetest music I know and I rarely turn on the tunes!  lol

Sorry I missed the JK.  I like em all but the 65 SS is my drug of choice!!  I remember a $1500 65 Chevelle AM/FM on Ebay over a year ago.  I had a non working AM at the time.  I bought another AM cheap to fill the holes for shows & had mine converted to AM/FM by a guy at Carlisle.  It's got some static & needs a part from Radio Shack.  I don't use it much but it works OK.  Mostly when I cruise I just listen to the sound of the Flowmasters.  Sometimes it's better than music and almost always better than the news!!  Have a great weekend.

Phil:
Please reread what I said about 65's.( I still feel the only Chevelle ever made was the 1965 but that is my problem< JK>). JK means Just Joking . I would never tell anyone that I didn't like their year of Chevelle.
Dan Blockers Z16 (Terry Gunter owned) sold for $250 K and I heard that when the smoke cleared Terry Gunter's other  Z16 sold for 350 K (there was a car trade and some cash) . It isn't only BJ and others making cars so expensive. Many parts are very rare and they are not making them anymore. As an example they made about 2794 AM-FM radios in 1965. The U69 option sold for $150.15  with the car. I have bought and sold many for $350.00 - $500.00 but now I'm seeing them go for $1500.00. Why ? Because it is a rare option, owners of 65's want them and they aren't making them anymore. I wonder how many went to the crusher , sitting on a bench or in another car?  According to many people restoring cars (private and shops) many  parts that are reproduced are junk. In this case no one makes a replacement. Well if you can't live without that AM-FM and must have it you may be paying $1600.00 for it because when the last one sold 10 others wanted it too. Does that make your car worth another $1600.00 ?  I don't think so but many out there are willing to pay big bucks . It's sad to see a car worth $5000.00  go for 15-20 K but one reason is there are so many Baby Boomers that want a "Blast from the Past " and they have the money to do it. Oh well time to go make some money to spend on parts !
Has anyone heard from John L. yet?
