I went out to start up my Chevelle and found that it will only start if the gas is floored and then dies as soon as you let off the gas.  A steady stream of blue smoke comes out both pipes while it tries to run like that.  Checked under the hood to find the carb profusely leaking gas from both sides of the carb but I couldn’t find a definite spot.  The fuel lines and hoses seem fine.  It was running fine two weeks ago when I last started it.  Any ideas on what would cause something like this to suddenly happen?

Thanks,

JB

Off Topic – Is it possible to reverse the polarity of a battery?  I went down to get my emissions done in an 85 camaro and they hooked something up to the battery and I lost all power.  AAA came and went to jump me but he crossed the wires on his van and as soon as it sparked (because he was trying to hook it up wrong) all my power came back.  I was thinking that the emissions place reversed the polarity and then the AAA guy put it back when he messed it up.  Is that feasible?

Thanks again.
