I used to have Hookers on the Chevelle, and fit was OK, but not great.  The actual fit in the engine bay was OK, but they hung too low and I finally had to replace them because they were getting flattened.  I went with mid-length Hedmans and the first set had a leak. They were very good about swapping them for a new set.

This particular set is for my Corvette and I'm planning on using Patriot shorty headers.  I think I'm going to go the cheap route and buy the raw headers.  That way if I need to dent them, mess them up, or toss them for something else, I will have only spent $140 on them.

Had Hookers on my 67 BB for a long time.  Not only had to remove their ‘Medallion’ nameplate but had to dimple them next to the steering column.  Had to turn the steering column shaft to the flat side just do the engine would drop in.  Couldn’t turn the wheel and had to have it trailered to an exhaust shop ‘cause I couldn’t steer it.

You’d think header mfgs could make something that you didn’t have to beat up to get to fit.  Best headers I ever had were an old set of Appliance Blackjack (later Mr. Gasket) headers.  Individual port flanges, fit with no mods, plenty of plug clearance and 4-bolt square collectors that didn’t have the all-too-common one bolt of the triangle spoiling ground clearance.

I agree, I too had to make the hookers fit around the steering shaft, with a small hammer "dent" in the tube, but it hurt me just to have to do it..

Well no doubt Hookers are a fine quality, but I do question fit. Mine in my BB '66 had problems around the steering until I made a slight "adjustment" with a hammer. Hurts when you put that kind of money in them, plus the extra to ceramic coat them.
