I have used soda blasting many times on new structural fabrications.  The good thing about it is that it does not stress relieve welds and cause distortion.  It is much softer on the material but still does a nice blast job.

Wow, I've never heard of that. How does the cost compare to media or sand blasting? And the benefits?

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Soda Blasting???

I have a '69 SS that I'm getting ready to have the body stripped to bare metal.  Have a couple of options, with Soda Blasting being one.

Has anyone had their car Soda Blasted??

How was the cleanup??

I also understand the baking soda leaves a "rust inhibitor" residue that has to be "washed" off with a water/vinegar solution.  Any problems there???

Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

Donnie
