Clint, I'm thinking along those same lines as far as intake and carb goes. I haven't decided on which headers or exhaust I'll go with. I would think 3 inch pipe though.. I would welcome anyone's suggestions. That's why I started this thread, to pick you more experienced people's brains...<g>

As to ignition, I picked up a used Mallory Unilite to start with when I bought the M-20 from Matt. I need to pick out a coil. I would imagine I would migrate to something else before I take to the roads for next year's Power Tour.

That sounds like a very healthy 396" you're putting together,Larry. My suggestions for induction would be either an Edelbrock Performer RPM or Performer RPM Airgap intake with either a 770cfm vac sec Holley Avenger or #4780 800cfm double pumper. Have you decided on an ignition or exhaust system, yet?

Guys (and gals),

My machine shop now has my block, crank and heads to do their thing. I hope to have it all back within 2 weeks. They spec'ed out the following components for me:

TRW-L2242F30 SPEED-PRO POWER FORGED PISTONS
MOLLY RINGS _ CANT READ P/N
COMP CAMS CCA-11-430-8 MAGNUM RETRO-FIT HYD. ROLLER CAMSHAFT .566 LIFT/280 DURATION
COMP CAMS CCA-1320-16 PRO MAGNUM ROLLER ROCKERS
COMP CAMS CCA-854-16 HIGH ENERGY HYDROLIC ROLLER LIFTERS
COMP CAMS CCA-924-16 VALVE SPRINGS - DUAL
COMP CAMS CCA-7110 BILLET TIMING SET - DOUBLE ROLLER
COMP CAMS CCA-7934-16 HI-TECH 3/8 IN PUSHRODS

All ARP head bolts, rocker studs and main studs, Felpro gaskets, etc.

They CC'ed my heads, and they came in at 111cc's. With the pistons above, I'm looking at roughly 10.5:1 comp. ratio.

Block is getting bored 30 over, align bore checked, my L78 rectangular port heads are getting the complete workover, rods getting resized, everything balanced.

I went to Summit to compare pricing, and I was surprised that the prices I was quoted from these guys are the same or lower than Summit pricing. I figured a local shop would charge more...

I still need to decide on an intake and carb.

As I have been out of muscle car building since the late '70's, I welcome your comments.
