The way you're describing it, sounds like the way I
planned to do it!
Remove all rust, spray galvanize, and then
rubberized undercoating!
The thing that worries me is...
What if I have to remove that rubber stuff

I'd clean off as much rust & scale as
possible. Paint with POR 15 , Extend, Rust Bullet or some other similar
product (what is available in Europe???). Then I'd spray with
