Here is the info I got on the fuel system mods.

Joe,
The tank listed in Jegs is by their request for a stock style conversion that can be adapted with an after market fuel pump such as the ones made by Walbro or Bosch which will handle your proposed HP out put but will be pushing the pump to its limits. I recommend that you look into our Stealth line of fuel tanks utilizing an Aeromotive A1000 with a 100 Micron Pre-filter all in the tank. The tank is baffled front to back and features a unique fuel reservoir for the fuel pick-up. This reservoir ensures proper fuel pick up when moving with great force in a lateral or longitudinal direction. The tank it self fits in the stock location and has a CNC machined access cover at the top should you ever need to service the pump and/or filter. The line sizes are a -10 AN feed and a -8 AN return. We can make these exit anywhere on the tank you would like preferably on the front face of the tank. The proposed set up is suitable for the 650-to1000+ HP range. This tank can be purchased directly from us or through Jegs on a special order basis only. I will give you a call tomorrow so we can further discuss this.
Thank you for your interest,

Joe, I hope to do the same swap in my 70 Nova as soon as I find the engine and transmission package. Since the Nova uses the same subframe it looks like I should be able to get parts since there were some recent articles in Chevy HiPerformance magazine. It appears to me that you should have less problem since the 1st gen Camaro was a rear steer and I think yours is front steer so you should have less problem with clearances. Motor mount adapters for the Camaro set the engine back 2 1/2" to clear the subframe and headers are real expensive. Good luck and I look forward to seeing some answers to your question.

Hey guys-I'm swapping an LS1 and 4L60E into my 71 SS. Anyone have any pics or experience with this? I've seen a lot of camaro and even 66 chev articles.

I don't know if oil pan mods, accessory mods and headers will be a clearance issue. I'm also researching the fuel system upgrades required.

Thanks for any help you can give.
