Rick, Hang in there. We built our 24 x 48 garage as cash flow would allow. We poured the slab one fall then waited till the next spring to put up the building. I then worked a few weekends to get it wired the way I wanted it. It still needs to be insulated and sheet rocked but for now it works. And it's paid for. It already full with four cars, one race car, a couple dirt bikes and all the the seasonal overflow from our primary residence garage. Good luck and have fun with your project.
