I thought i'd chime in on this one.....i've removed quite a bit of sound deadening material from the floorboards before and found this trick to work quite AWESOME!!!

Try to find a place that sells dry ice in pellet form. Wear gloves and scatter the dry iceon the floorboard. The rebber like material will get brittle.....very brittle. Then you can take a pick hammer and break the material into small pieces, then use your putty knofe a pop it all up. Then throw away all of the gargage. If you don't get all of the dry ice up......no biggie,  it just turns to vapor...well mabe a little water, but clean up is a snap.

Hope you all benefit from this one like i have.

Enjoy, Kyle

Thanks!

Sounds like I'm going to need a mask for this ;-)
I tried aceton on a rag but it was quite time consuming!

put some laquer thinner in a paint gun and turn the pattern knob all the way in to spray "bullet" then you have a pressure washer with thinner wash it away
