I POR'd mine at least 6 years ago, maybe a couple more than that. And I've put 40k mi on it.    I don't have any issues with durability and holding its color.   I would however use the POR primer first.   It took me several coats to fill in all of the rough casting "valleys".   I believe that the primer is a bit thicker and will fill in those "valleys"  so that the POR will cover in 1 or 2 coats.

I used POR-15 on my 383 after 2 yrs running still looks like
it did when I brushed it on, great.
