John I would put them back in there to get it to an alignment shop.  Yes, it will be off, but it's better than having nothing in there.  If you put no shims in and you go to drive it, it could possibly destroy your tires in the short distance it may be to the shop, therefore your tires will never wear properly causing other problems such as wheel shimmy, pulling left or right, etc.   Tom
