Hi all, I'm in the process of sending my car to do the body work and painting too.  I was reading many articles the other day about how sandblasting is not a good idea for your car.  It's only good for small size sheet metal peices.  However, I did hear that there is another option to do and that is by dipping every sheetmetal of your car in some type of acid.  They say it works to get all the old paint or primer off your car to get it ready for any needed body work.  My question is to any one that can help:  I don't know if any has heard of this acid dipping process, but Is this type of process good?? Does it get rid of the rust as well??  Or is just plain old hand sanding the better technique??  Thanks everyone! -EDDIE-
I have had 2 cars sandblasted, and I think it's the way to go.  Most recently is my 69 Charger.  Just DO NOT have the hood and trunk lid blasted, they will warp.  You can acid dip, the problem is coating the areas you can't reach.  They will be left bear metal and will rust again.  Want thing I will point out is, if your car does not have any deep pitted surface rust, a good sanding with 40 grit will do the job.
