I agree on the point that the market is going crazy. I thought last
night was nuts ($205k for a z28?)..but when you think about it, certain cars
like that Z28 or the '66 Chevelle are very rare finds, so what is the real
value? I've seen it posted here before that it's whatever someone will pay for
it. Not sure that's the way I'd go looking for an investment, but most of those
guys aren’t worried about that. It does bother me As far as a 340 Cuda not being a performance car, I'll assume you've never
driven a 340 car or maybe you did and it wasn't running right. It's like saying
a small block 327 Chevelle isn't one. That little motor gets up and goes. It doesn't
have to have a Hemi to be a performance/muscle car. Ron My '66 http://myweb.cableone.net/cutter169/ -----Original Message----- I really have mixed emotions about what is happening with the classic car market. On one hand it's really great to see guys make good money selling their cars, but I just think the rich crowd has gone way overboard. These guys have priced the middle class blue collar car collect/DRIVER (like me) out of the market. These guys even paid 61 Gs
for a 340 ci 71 Cuda. It was nice, but not even a performance car except for a 4 sp. The real /hot rods/ just seemed to break even. My 65 SS will never make it to BJ, but then again I drive it when I can, and even bang a few 6000 rpm shifts.
