My experiences have been with M21s and M22s, but it's kind of like I said
before - all depends on how you use it. I would assume you'd want to use all
that power from time to time. M22s have been known for their strength as
well as the whine they make. I've been pretty had on M21s and they have
always performed.

Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] 4-speed?

Hi Ron...thank for the quick reply. I'd LIKE to be able to drive it on
road trips, but most of what I do will be in town
with infrequent trips to the strip. A 5 or 6 speed would be best, but
the older 4-speeds, Muncies and such
aren't terribly expensive. Overdrive would be awesome for mileage, but
I'm willing to make some
sacrifices to keep the costs down. I just fell in love with driving a
muscle car with a stick... you're
DRIVING the car, not just being a passenger! ;)
Would a Muncie M20 hold up to that kind of hp? I'm not sure of the
ratings on the older
trannies.
