Wonder if it has anything to do with the 68 front end and maybe wiring harness is different?  Consensus seems to be that parking lights remaining on is a 68 and newer thing for Chevelles.

The parking lights go out on my 69 when the headlights are turned on. I wish they would all stay on.

As ’68 was the first year of the side marker lamps, maybe that’s when they kept parking lamps on as well?  Be a bit of trivia that may come in handy later.  Be sure to let us know what you discover  Very few pre-68 cars around here.
