A business right near me got busted about a month ago for selling counterfeit parts. I saw the story on the news. The stuff was in correct-looking boxes and all looked real enough, but they were knock-offs.
It is possible that Edelbrock is having their stuff made in China. I would ask them about it. I've seen lots of ads and there is even a web site (http://www.counterfeitmini.com/) warning about counterfeit Mini Coopers. I have to assume that this whole campaign is some sort of fake guerrilla advertising.
