A business right near me got busted about a month ago for selling
counterfeit parts. I saw the story on the news. The stuff was in
correct-looking boxes and all looked real enough, but they were knock-offs.

It is possible that Edelbrock is having their stuff made in China. I would
ask them about it.

I've seen lots of ads and there is even a web site
(http://www.counterfeitmini.com/) warning about counterfeit Mini Coopers. I
have to assume that this whole campaign is some sort of fake guerrilla
advertising. I looked at the pictures of the "fake Mini Coopers" on their
site and you'd have to be a real idiot to think they are real Minis.

It surprises me too,Brian. Doesn't make a lot of sense, either,as it weakens
their arguments about Chinese copies. Only speaking for myself but I
would've sent it back to Summit. I do not want to see China make any further
inroads into our hobby.
