If you don't want to drop the tank then syphon out all you can get then add some good premium gas and maybe some additives, I guess. The rubber fuel line at the tank is subject to rot and leak in old cars so you may want to check it or just replace it. I drove my 63 Nova for a couple years before I bought a new tank and I could not believe the crap in the old tank. I guess the filter was doing a good job otherwise it would have stopped up the carb. I live on a lake and every spring the lake is littered with boats that stop running after using last years fuel which usually includes lots of water from condensation. My $.02.
