I'm in Brooklyn. I heard that this was a record for the most snow in one day in NY City. Unfortunately they do salt the streets here when it's that heavy. I combat that by trying not to drive anywhere until the streets are clear or we've had some rain unless I really have to, and I always get the snow off the car asap. Luckily we have good mass transit here.
